Coming soon! Those two words bring so much excitement. The potential. The drama. The story.
And yes, they are ubiquitous when launching a new endeavor, challenge or journey. Like this one. Striving for better, for community, for personal, and for prosperity. I am on a journey that means sharing the knowledge of those that came before me, from the great homestead act and the land rush of the 1800s to the depression era of the 1930s and today, where everything is suspect, unless you held it and grew it yourself. Even then, who’s to say the seeds you were given are really what they claimed to be? It will take a few growing seasons of saving your own seeds to know that they for certain are going to work for you and your climate. Go to a farmers market, talk to the grower, find your people. Learn. I challenge you to try a new variety this year, to tantalize your tastebuds with recommendation or unknown recipes or just a different method or preparation.
Like my kids have learned over the years, and now they use it back on me - “How do you know you don’t like it if you don’t try it?”
